Our Actions - 2008 Statistics
2008 Statistics for the Friends of Animals
Do you wonder what your donations are helping with?  Following is a list of the good that our
charity was able to do with restricted funds.  Imagine how much more we could do if you or your
company got involved!

260 Animals Cared for in Many Ways.
We will attend to the animals, particularly when they become ill or are wounded. In the injury and
disease cases we give medicine and instructions to the persons that will attend to them. The
most needy of the animals will remain near us - either in our homes or the shelter - for
treatment. Cases where long term treatments are required or there is needed orthopaedic
surgery require more attention and donations. Finally, in cases, where there does not exist any
possibility of treatment, the animal is ensured a painless, humane death.

170Dogs and Cats Vaccinated.
The dogs are vaccinated, issued coloured collars - blue for the male and red for female - that are
ID'ed and recorded.   A pet passport is maintained for each animal. The cats are vaccinated (and
sterilized but not as a priority due to budget restraints.  We will intervene where there exists big
population and they are friendly to humans).

70Dogs and Cats Sterilized (spayed and neutered).
We believe that all the female stray dogs in Nea Filadelphia are sterilized. We try, as long as our
finances allow to extend also the sterilisations to the males. The cats are vaccinated and
sterilized but not as a priority due to budget restraints.  We will intervene where there exists big
population and they are friendly to humans.  In general, we attend to animals depending on their
needs.

85Dogs and cat find new families each year.
With announcements in newspapers and radio, with postings, via the internet, with permanent
search between acquaintances and friends, try we find family in the animals that have found
their way to our shelter.
