World Woof Tour - May 20
Woof Woof!  My name is OSCAR and I am here to tell the story of my
day with the fantastic volunteers from the Filozoikos Nea Filadelphia (Friends of
Animals Nea Filadelphia) and the children of many local schools!

I am traveling the world with Joanne, my rescuer, and you can read all about my
tour at
www.worldwooftour.com.
After I left my hotel in the Centre of Athens, I drove to Nea
Filadelphia to a childrens school where I met many new
friends...
...who gave me this fantastic new toy to snuggle up with on
my travels.
Here I am leading the presentation with Joanne, my
rescuer, and Miss Kiki from the Filozoikos NF. I am sharing
my story in 61 different cities around the world.
At the school, Odysseas (himself a rescue dog from Nea
Filadelphia) and I fool around during a break!  Greek dogs
are lots of fun!  I think he is looking for his lost souvlaki!
After the fun we had at the school, Odysseas and Kiki lead
the children to the Animal Shelter in the big park. It is
beautiful and many people were with their dogs walking.
The shelter volunteers made many big signs for my arrival
and Joanne and I loved them all!  They also made cookies
shaped like bones and had funny t-shirts available.
There were many people from the newspapers at the shelter
to interview me and Miss Kiki, as she knows very much how
life for a stray in Greece is.  She is a doggie smarty-pants!
Each of the cages had pictures and stories of each of the
dog who lives inside.  I really hope they get adopted real
soon by some of these curious kids.
Here the children are making a serious pledge - that when
they are ready to get a pet, they will adopt from a shelter
and not from a store.
Now it is time for some serious loving!  All the children were
so enthusiastic and could not get enough of rubbing my
head!
Time for a pit-stop at city hall to meet the Mayor and
introduce him to Carol from GAWF, one of my many new
friends and who helped me set-up my Greece tour.
It seems the Mayor also could not get enough of rubbing
my head!  I think this is the first time such fun was had in
this conference room!
After visiting the Mayor, I did some television interviews,
had a quick nap and some snacks, then headed to
Syntagma Square for a fun big bus ride with all my friends.
There was lots of site-seeing and I was tired.  Sometimes I
am glad for this long fur because can you tell I was having
a snooze!  LOL!
Bark Bark!  My name is also OSCAR and I live in the shelter
at Nea Filadelphia.  I have been here a very long time and really wish
someone would adopt me.  I also felt as unlucky as Oscar to live in a
shelter but now that we met and are special friends, my new buddy
says that a positive attitude and just being who I am will bring me
good luck in finding a new home!
